When you are in the grocery store line, what is most annoying?

The guy on the walkie talkie cell phone that beeps after everytime they talk, or the little kid screaming for candy, or the old lady digging in the bottom of her purse for the correct change?

  1. buttercup :)) Says:

people standing infornt of me and my mom and just talking ot cashire and exchaning stories

  2. hopflower Says:

Screaming is not good; nor is the phone person. The old lady I can deal with; after all, we are all going to get there someday. I also do not like rude clerks.

  3. dolce Says:

The people right behind me ramming their cart into my backside.

  4. Princess Me Says:

The inconsiderate person who is being rung up then remembers items they forgot and leaves the line to get them and the cashier has to wait to finish the order. That really ticks me off!

  5. calypso876 Says:

D: the check out person who feels their conversation w/ the bagger is so much more important then helping the customers

  6. Ms.6 Says:

The walkie talkie cell phone! I **** those things!!!! I don’t want to hear your conversation, it does NOT make you look COOL or IMPORTANT. It makes you look like an @$$ and IGNORANT! Back in the day I’d say the screaming kid, but now a days its the walkie talkie cell phone.

  7. Gabby Johnson Says:

People that pay with checks and do not have the check filled out until it is their turn at the register–they just waited in line for 20 minutes and wait until the last second to fill out the check–like they have never shopped there before, gimme a break!

  8. Jay K Says:

I think it’s the lady arguing with the checker about a .20 cent price difference.

  9. Tasha Says:

A cashier who’s so not in the mood of doing his/her job and is doing it slowly.

  10. India Says:

OK, Replace the old lady with the guy who keeps ******* in close quarters, then I’m with you!

  11. itssoeasy Says:

the cashier who leaves to go get cigarettes and takes her sweet-ass time to do everything.

  12. husky Says:

When an item is priced one thing and rings up totally different. Then everyone in line has to wait behind you till they go look up the price.

  13. Joi S Says:

All of the above. I work part time at a grocery store and it’s ridiculous the way some people act in public. Please handle your unruly kids, don’t talk on the damn cell phone while you’re being checked out that’s very rude, don’t’ come on the cashier line and ask stupid questions about discounts and price differences when you could have just went to customer service and saved a lot of time. I could go on but I get a headache thinking about work on my day off.

  14. ~Lil Ms. Softball~ Says:

A- The annoying beeping sound of the register
B- When a child is somewhere near, and their balling, and they need a good **** woopin
C- When you get the slowest cashier in the WHOLE store!!

  15. pete_rn Says:

Oh let me count my pet peaves…
    1. When someone rings up two different loads of groceries.
    2. Only after the cashier tells them the total, that’s when they decide to pull out their wallet and dig for money.
    3. On that note. When someone takes 2 minutes to look for the exact change to the penny.
    4. And most annoying. When someone decides to buy a very cheap item with their wellfare check/food stamps, then turn around and buy a carton of cigarettes with the money they get back.

  16. Toasty_Latte Says:

I get annoyed when the cashier says to the person in front of me “Hello!” in a cheery voice and “Have a Nice day!!” . Then when I get there its like “….” and when I leave “….”.

Then there are the adults who can’t control their small kids who are more worried about Joey Kookumangas party tonight then their kids who are crawling on the floor near my feet. They dont even tell the kids to get up or to stop rubbing up on me like a cat.

In general I have a very negative attitude. Mostly because I’m subjected to it ALL the time. One of these days I’m just gonna go ballistic and say “GET YOUR GODDAMN KIDS OFF MY LEGS!! MY POWER LEVEL IS OVER 9000!!!”

  17. nowyouknow Says:

The little old lady digging out change really bugs me.

  18. Colette Says:

When the cashier/clerk is not at his/her post! I know one time I stood at this check out line for a long time because #05 had it’s light on meaning that someone is there to check you out but I stood there looking retarded forever with my stuff ready to be purchased and people were telling me to go to another check out line because the cashier/clerk person was not showing up!!! Making me look stupid.

  19. chelseycarmel Says:

The old lady digging in the bottom of her purse looking for change. Well if she would of had her purse organized to begin with then we wouldn’t have any worries at all now would we?

  20. thisisme Says:

The cell phones going off, the brats screaming, and the old lady getting help from the cashier the store manager and everyone else to work the credit card machine for an hour and a half, but my biggest peeve is the couple who park their cart in line then one of them goes running aorund all over the store getting dozens more items and I stand there fuming…SO inconsiderate.

  21. saturn622 Says:

Some dingbat thats ready to pay their bill and either forgets their checkbook or forgets their pin number. Another one is waiting for their kid to come back with something.

  22. Sunny-USA Says:

Today the lady in front of me had the cashier ring up a cart full of groceries into two separate orders. I had to wait while she filled out a check for the 1st one, then some check for the 2nd where the food had to qualify to be paid with that.
    …That was REALLY irritating!!

  23. carlosdavid Says:

The most annoying is the guy on the walkie talkie cell phone that beeps after everytime they talk.

  24. MamaBear Says:

None of the above. The ones that really annoy me are the ones that can’t count — “10 Items or Less” does NOT mean 15 items!!!!

  25. michelle Says:

I **** people who get too close for comfort… I’m standing in line and I can actually feel them breathing on my neck, if not they’re hitting you with their cart or literally pushing you. The stupid guy on the walkie talkie is annoying for not knowing that he can actually make his phone NOT make that stupid sound and put it on speaker off, so only he can hear his stupid conversations. I don’t mind the old lady digging for change, so much; I’m usually very patient when it comes to old people. I cannot stand the kid screaming, though; so I’d probably just pay for whatever candy she wants and give it to her so she shuts up. But what I really **** the most are all those uneducated, ignorant, and bad mannered people who don’t respect my space. Where do these people come from?

  26. Bingbing Says:

    1) Rude cashiers
    2) People that stand to close to you in line. Everytime you move up there move up right behind you. I get uncomfortable when someone is standing too close to me. If I’m using my debit card, I don’t want someone right over shoulder while I’m entering my pin. I have to block their view with my hand or my wallet.
    3) Cell phones. No call is so important that you have to keep talking while you’re at the register.

Someone digging in their purse/pocket for change doesn’t really bother me. You have to be patient and wait your turn.

  27. L.M.L Says:

I **** it when the old lady whips out her check book and writes a check for something that cost $20. lol…it’s like the VISA commercial you just can’t break up the flow.

Oh I **** the crying kid in the cart who won’t shut up.

I also get annoyed when the cashier and the customer chat it up for a long time. Some people would like to just pay for their things and go. If you want to talk wait until you are on your break.

Bingbing reminded me of another: People who stand really close to you or push their cart really close to you. It’s called space and I would appreciate if you gave me some.

  28. Paul Anthony F Says:

People not having thier monmey ready , but this is most annnying when women get on the bus and then decide to get thier money out ( slowly)
Just as they always ask for directions when the bus has stopped so everyone has to await 3 minutes whilst the driver explains !

  29. Teresa Says:

How about the ***** ***** mom who is yelling at her kids when if she didn’t want kids should have kept her legs closed in the first place.
