At my job I work with 3 other family members. My employer knows that we’re all family. Recently my aunt passed away and her funeral is Saturday. It just so happens that there is a party on the same day by another co-worker. 2 of my family members already have the day off for the party and my employer won’t let myself and my cousin take the day off for my aunts funeral because he thinks we’re just making it up to go to the damn party. We’ve given him proof that there is a funeral on Saturday and he still refuses. I can’t miss my Aunts funeral and he’s threatened to fire me. I don’t know what to do. Can he legally fire me for attending a family funeral?

Is it turning out to be unlucky to be one of Barbara Ryan’s kids? One has died (if you count John Dixon, Jr, two have died) one is presumed dead after a fall from a cliff and the other was just run off the road and will be put in the path of an oncoming train.

I read an article this mom wrote about how when her kids were growing up, they bored her and she really just didn’t enjoy being around them (mostly when they were little). I don’t know if you have read it or not. She says she loves her kids, of course, but she just couldn’t handle the watching kiddie TV, being dragged to annoying kids parties, and she almost dreaded going home from work. Now that they are teenagers they are like her best friends, but she could never connect with them as small children. I feel like if I ever became a mom I’d feel the same way (one of the reasons I’ve decided to never have kids). I know I’m probably asking the wrong group (since you all care enough to be answering questions about parenthood), but I was wondering if any you feel that way too?
here it is, actually…

Actually, we grew up watching whatever our parents wanted to watch. No Barny 24 hours a day. And, I can’t recall my parents ever taking me to kids parties growing up. When I got a little older, around 7 or so, they would drop me off and pick me up if I had a party. Trust me, my parent’s didn’t pander to our every whim when we were growing up. Maybe part of it is that parents spoil their kids too much, and that drives them crazy?

I’m almost 13 years old and my dad sends me to bed at 9:00 for no reason. He thinks that I shouldn’t play online games because he couldn’t play them when he was a kid. I saw a Dr Phil and there was a girl who felt the same as I do. her dad treats her a little bit worse and my dad thinks that it’s totally ok for him to do that. Dr Phil said that what that guy was doing was abuse and the whole audience a greed with him. My dad didn’t agree, my dad doesn’t treat me as bad as that guy treats his daughter, but he thinks that what the guys is doing is ok. my dad HATES ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My baby has an intense ******* need. She is just now finding her hands and fingers and is trying to **** on them. I would rather her take a passy. I have heard that babies that do not get that ******* comfort have oral problems in the long run. How can I encourage the passy instead of the fingers?

I am going to a 4th of July camping trip next week, and I am in charge of kepeing the little kids busy with crafts, and games and all that junk. They are all under ten years old. We are having a different theme every night. Here are the themes, and my ideas:
Mama Mia Night (Italian)- Playdough Pizza’s and ?
Fiesta Night (M) (Mexican)- Piniata Making and ?
Hawaiian Night (H) (Hawaii)- Lei’s and Foam Visors, and Sunglasses
Yee Haw Night (country)- ? and ?
Carnival Night (fair games)- bean toss, face paint, puppet show, basketball shoot,
Soaked (water night)- Water Baloon Toss, ****** Gun Fun, Sponge and Noodle,
Now I really need your help by filling in the blanks with activities that go along with the theme, and are inexpensive. We are staying at a lakeside campground, and dont have that much space…
I also need you guys to post a link of a great website that has an English- ____ Name Generator, where you can type in an english name, and the will give you a H, I, or M name
