What is a good Thanksgiving/Fall craft for a class of 4 & 5 year olds?

What are some great ideas on teaching creative writing to kids?

I’ll be teaching a creative writing class this summer to a group of 11-14 year-olds. I have experience teaching writing (mostly poetry) to adults, but teaching kids will be new territory. Does anyone have some great tips, websites, resources for exercises, and reading materials for this age group? Thanks!

What is one thing that really, like REALLY, pisses you off?

For me, it is when I am sitting on the couch, with my kids, playing on Y!A, and some ******* has posted a link to a **** site, or a picture of some hairy nasty *****.

Come on people. There are kids on here, and kids near computers that adults are using. Now I can’t click on links AT ALL when the kids are up. GROW UP!

I just read an article that 16 year old should be able to graduate by the 10th grade?

I think this is ludicrous; I think that our children are over burden with growing up. Parents put their children in daycare, preschool or some other kind of care. They are forced to be social when all they want to be is hugged. Let our kids grow up before we turn them into adults.

how many times have you seen a child (under 21 years old) ask a *** question and ADULTS reply with the correct answer? ADULTS are telling children how to have a great *** life ….. what is wrong with you??? tell them to get an education and clean thier rooms, take your kids out to the park. I can NOT wait until some one tells your 12 yeasr old daughter how to ride.

as for you kids, start thinking of your life because your destroying it. if your grades are less then an 87% then your doomed for stupidity, and your life will aerage to nothing if you dont get on the ball. focus on School, then collage, then a job…. stay away from *** I assure you it destroys your life if you give it up before your time.

Kari…. you catch on fast, if you would emailed me, you would know my real age … you beleve every thing you hear? _ that is my first point, these kids will listen to BAD advice. and #2 what if I was 13 and had a kid? I worked in a group home, do you have idea how many 12-13 year olds are having babies?. look it up. #3 dont ever talk about my son again. this has nothing to do with him, and all I wanted was to open up some eyes here before it’s too late.

Is there a social networking site, like facebook or myspace, geared for or frequented by elementary age kids?

I have a ten year old little brother that talks about myspace all the time and says he wants to join, but you have to 14 to join. Is there something out there that children under 14 go to or is marketed toward? I don’t think it would be appropriate for him to be on a social website that also has adults. Thank you! And if you have any other suggestions of social networking on the internet for kids, let me know!

What are some healthy easy meals to prepare for a Family diet?

Must include these things for the whole family (kids & adults):
1. Easy things to find in supermarket.
2. Family feels “needy” if they don’t have meat at dinner.
3. No crazy ingredients, just REAL food.
Any advice?

Should I drink alcohol or stay away?

Before you go on to say no it’s going to lead to so many problems, I’ll just say I’m a 20 year old male who is very responsible and not spontaneous by any means. I am not talking about drinking to get drunk, or drinking because it is the cool thing to do, I just want to know what the big deal is (I’ve never had any alcohol in my life). Everyone thinks it’s crazy that I’ve never tried alcohol before, meaning kids my age and adults. I think in America, kids think they need to be drunk to enjoy alcohol, while in other counties, kids drink at an early age, but unlike Americans, they are responsible about it. I feel like drinking is a good means of socializing at an older age, but at the same time, I am very proud to have never touched alcohol and that is the main reason I’ve stayed away from it this long. I would lose my dignity if I were to drink, and I have an extreme superego to boot, which accounts for the reason I’ve never been to a party of club before. So is there any good reasons why I should keep up what I’m doing? Bad reasons? Thanks in advance!
Everyone in my family drinks except me, but no one is addicted and they are all responsible. I don’t think I would get addicted for the sole reason I never drank at a young age.
