What is the best text for learning Japanese?

I am trying to find an excellent and efficient text book/work book for learning Japanese that doesn’t cost 50+ dollars. Right now I have been using Japanese for Young People but there’s no English translation except for the vague dictionary in the back and I don’t have the tapes nor know where to obtain them. I’m also using a couple of books for memorizing Kanji.
Also what are some good free websites?

i have a few boxes to send. To use a cargo is waayyy too much, but LBC boxes are too small and expensive to send heavy books. What’s the cheapest way to send them? thank you

I am dating a single father and I haven’t been around kids that much as an adult (I am 27, with no kids, never been married), any tips? He has a 2 yr old, 5 yr old and 8 yr old. How do you think I could get better at interacting with them/ playing with them? any tips, books, advice you’ve got will be aprreciated.

I’m an aspiring comic book artist who is hoping to create and get a new comic book published sometimes in the future, and was wondering what books should I get to help me? The theme of mine will be about an indian girl wanting to be like a hero of legend, even after finding out he was a fake. There will be allot of kick butting.

Preferably fantasy stories. I don’t really like historical fiction. Age level doesn’t matter, as long as it’s not meant for really little kids.

What’s something good to bring on a road trip?

k, i am going on a camping trip, and we have everything packed up. Obviously, two kids in the back seat are gonna get bored after driving for so long. What should i bring for my sister and i? (My sis is 10) I am thinking of bringing: Paper, art supplies, books, madlibs, what else? By the way, i can bring pretty much whatever i want, since we have an rv, with alot of storage place. thanks!
