What is the proper etiquette to thank family after a visit at their home?

My husband and I visited my family out of state. We spent most of the time with mom and dad, with everyone gathering at their house. But we did spend 1 night at my sisters house and 1 night at my brother and his wife’s house. What is the appropriate etiquette after such a visit? Do you send a thank you card to each party? Do you send a gift to each party?

Any good ideas for a 3 yr old boy’s party?

Do you have any ideas for things to do on a mini party with my three year nephew? The only people there will be the kid, me, my brother, and a friend. It’s not a birthday party, just a little something so that he doesn’t have to stay home alone while his older sisters go on to another party. So there’s no specific occasion or anything, but any ideas for fun activities applying to his age level would be great. (in case it matters, he’s a very active, and very smart boy, he doesn’t like to sit still but loves to run around, he also enjoys crafts and such things)
In reply to rukidding: the party isn’t because his sister’s are having one, it’s because I need to watch him, because he obviously can’t stay home alone, and the party idea is because he’s been really great, and a “big boy” these past few months, it’s sorta like a little reward. We don’t spoil him, don’t worry ;D

What should I do to entertain my family on Thanksgiving?

My parents and my younger brother are coming to mine and my boyfriend’s house on thanksgiving. I just realized that we’re going to have to entertain them all day and I have no idea what to do.

Past visits have been nice but filled with awkward silences. There isn’t a lot for a family to do over here.

What are some activities or whatever that will get us through the day?

At what age do most kids learn to ride a bike with training wheels?

My oldest son is 4 (as of June) and we got him a bike when he was 3 and he just couldn’t figure it out.. He barely started riding right around his birthday and now he is doing much much better. It does have training wheels of course.

His younger brother is 2 1/2 (turned 2 at the end of April) he immediately showed jealousy of and interest in his brothers bike so 2 weeks ago we decide to buy him one also. We figured he would just sit on it for a while and probably not learn for a year or so but to our amazement he learned in just 5 20-30 minute sessions!!! He now rides at about 80% the efficiency level of his older brother.

I am just curious if the younger is just super cordinated or if his brother was just a late learner. When do most kids learn to ride a bike with training wheels.

Also, at what age would it be appropriate to take the training wheels off? My husband is thinking of taking them off in about 4 months for our older son and 6 months or so for our younger son.. I am a bit worried about this because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 3 year old riding a bike without training wheels.. Is he expecting to much?

(P.S. neither of my children ever had a tricycle or anything with pedals)
